KR010 – Jerry Abstract “A Bitch in Bro’s Clothing EP”

Detroit native Jerry Abstract surprises us again with his latest testament to techno. His Album “A Bitch in Bros Clothing” is presented by Knightriders to celebrate our tenth digital release.

While playful and non-contrived, Jerry seems to enjoy toying with the seriousness of modern techno while invoking a sense of post industrial wasteland swager. All seemingly designed to ask the listener with the shit eating grin to consider throwing up a festive fist pump.

I first met Jerry Abstract at a club night in Seattle some 15+ years ago.  He was in town from Detroit, DJing what I felt at that time to be some of the most unique and inspiring techno I had ever heard.  He gave me a mixtape that night, which I ended up taking with me when I moved to San Diego. I listened to that tape non-stop for 6 months before returning to Seattle. Jerry’s mix had really Inspired me to continue playing music and to start a techno night in Seattle. Subsequently leading to the formation of Knightriders Events and Knightriders Recordings.  I’m proud to say Jerry Abstract played at the first ever Knightriders event.  And, I am honored that he has agreed to allow us to publish his latest work as our tenth release on Knightriders Recordings.

Knightriders are excited to include a remix for the title track “A Bitch in Bros Clothing” by Detroit’s techno heavyweight, Punisher. With over 40 releases and remixes under her belt, Michelle’s music is ever evolving. Moving in a new direction with her sound, Punisher has brought over the synthy tech moods of the Swedish techno producers and drawn upon her own Detroit roots for inspiration. A favorite headliner for KR events, we are happy to welcome Punisher to KRecordings!
